Paul McKeon is President of The Content Factor (www.contentfactor.com), a professional services firm that specializes in content marketing, messaging and the generation of original content across a wide range of media.
A technology marketing veteran who has spent more than 25 years designing and implementing marketing programs, Paul was influential in the successful marketing of a wide selection of products, ranging from Hayes Smartmodems to Nokia cellular phones and Scientific Atlanta interactive television platforms. He has helped launch many startup companies and has seen several of these through to fruition in the form of IPOs or buyouts.
At The Content Factor, clients currently include Panasonic, Equifax, Blackboard, McGraw Hill, Lenovo, Manhattan Associates and other industry leaders. In addition to developing white papers, research reports, automated marketing campaigns and other deliverables, Paul and his team regularly help clients with messaging and positioning.
From 1997-2002 Paul was a partner at Ketchum Public Relations. While at Ketchum, he ran the global technology practice and had responsibility for directing agency efforts on behalf of IBM Software, Nokia, Cingular Wireless, Hitachi Telecom and many other leading technology firms. Paul also served as Ketchum’s Chief eBusiness Officer. In that role, he led the agency’s pioneering efforts in knowledge management, personalized portals and digital client relations. For his eBusiness efforts, Paul was cited by Computerworld Magazine as one of the 100 most influential IT professionals in the U.S in 2001.
Paul joined Ketchum in 1997 when it purchased Crescent Communications, the integrated marketing communications firm he founded in 1986. During his 12 years at the helm of Crescent, the company developed and implemented marketing strategies for many technology and B2B firms.
Prior to founding Crescent, Paul held product management positions at Hayes Microcomputer Products and Digital Equipment Corporation.
Paul is a frequent writer and speaker on the topics of messaging, marketing and technology. He is a graduate of Princeton University and has an MBA from Vanderbilt University.
